An octopus is... grotesque.
Sure it's been humanized in documentaries, but it's a slimy eight-tentacled brain creature that I'm convinced gave H.R. Geiger night terrors before he started drawing to settle his nerves.
Just imagine an octopus reaching out and slipping a suckered tentacle around your arm and latching on. Then you freak out and shake your arm, trying to get it off, and BAM - you're in a Loony Toons cartoon. Happens every episode.
(okay -- AND they are cool too, but in a "that's a colorful spider" way. Keep it away from me.)
