This balloon design is from the Sepo Balloon Brothers channel -- I don't have a "go to" humanoid form (non-princess) and tend to wing it, so it's exciting to see what people use.  The effort in this is mainly in the head and face structure, with a single color outfit - kind of like a mechanic or a police officer or ... a modern stone-age dinosaur operator who works at the quarry in the town of Bedrock and is a page right out of history?

So I was thinking about how Matt Falloon's Bopup concept could be a stocky egg-shaped humanoid as well when it occured to me to try making the Flintstone boys.

I think the shape works pretty well for these guys, adding balloon arms would have looked stocky and out of place.  There was a good bit of shading for these guys but it covered fairly quickly, I was going to draw in the arms but decided they weren't needed.

These remind me most of "Weebles".

These Flintstones were some of the extra examples included in Patrick Van de Ven's Little Guys tutorial. You'll have to contact him on Facebook for a link to purchase it.

He shows how to build Fred & Barney, but I definitely made the feet a little big and/or the body a little small on the Fred.  I think using a toffee balloon for the face worked pretty well for the 5 o'clock shadow for Mr. Slate.

Not having legs keeps that cartoonish look.
