May 23 - Goat

And if it looks a bit familiar
Like it did the other time
They say history don't repeat itself
No, history just rhymes.

~ Jesse Welles - Friends

There were five of them - a tribe of goats, that's the term.  Unruly, loud, invincible.

He still walks those old paths now and then, just to remember.  The laughter.  The noise.  The way the world felt bigger when they were together.

Probably time to go home.

This goat follows an Isopresso design - getting a square slit on the eyes was an interesting exercise, I'm glad they are on either side of the face instead of looking directly at the camera because matching them would be rough.

January 14 - Loopy Goatz

Sheep are stupid, and have to be driven. But goats are intelligent, and need to be led.

~ Terry Pratchett

I had the opportunity to meet and chat with Dave Brenn yesterday, who told me this is the first time he had heard of this blog.

You know that feeling when you meet someone, and they're like - "oh hey, look it's your diary", and then they read a few pages that just happen to be about them?  Yeah ... that's a spicy awkward with a sprinkle of exhilaration.

The gray goat was made freestyle the first day I watched Loopy Headz, early experimentation -- whereas the ivory goat is one was made freestyle this morning.  I think the shorter lower lip works good to enhance the scowl, a full lower jaw area tends to look a bit like a smile.

I'm happy about the work I've put in so far, in some ways I felt like I was sliding rapidly down a mountain and I've somehow now managed to slow that descent.

March 30 - Goat

"Take one last look at the scapegoat
Baggy eyed and loaded down
Shaggy beard, sad and broken
The old goat falls without a sound."
   ~ Railroad Earth

We are revisiting Balloon Magic issue #77, this time for Pieter van Engen's goat.

This Balloon Magic magazine was the first I ever bought, and I built this goat a year ago as the second delivery piece for our offices, I have include a picture of that because I like the setting.

Last years model ...

Goat cheeeeeeese!
