I am not sure if these were meant to be anything more than cute little snack cone creatures, but I certainly like how they are all smooshed together like they're about to sing Bohemian Rhapsody.  

Creative Balloon Handmade posted a bunch of these last week.  I think we've already established my poor impulse control around balloon groups and concepts.

Cute things are interesting in that it always sparks things in the opposite direction for me.  I'm not craving building a super cute panda next, I am thinking about snips and snails and puppy dog tails .. and ... monster baby heads?  Mutant sabertoothed zombie popsicles?  ..  Alien waffle cones!?

Weaving is a bit like chanting a magic spell. It's less about the final shape and more about trusting the magic of repetition. Mathematical .. or musical .. in my head I know if I follow the rhythm, I will eventually end up with "something".

The cone is less precise than a typical weave and gets a little bit fiddly as he gets really tight, like tying a tight braid out of a couple exploding pool noodles.  

Both of these designs are from Isopresso, that's a whole lot of techniques packed into two designs!

April 28 - Ice Cream

Let's wash that previous image of Christopher Lyle from our heads.

I first noticed Christopher Lyle, "The Man in the Yellow Suit", from his posts in various Facebook forums.  He has a talent at showcasing work that others have done and then upping them all with his own flair.  Like Weird Al covering one of your songs, Christopher Lyle showcasing one of your balloons is equivalent to "making it".  He has released one PDF entitled Sleightly Delusional, a guide for getting and keeping a high value restaurant gig - even though it doesn't pertain to my goals, I got it because of his enviable level of professionalism.  ... and there was plenty of information for me as well, and I stopped making excuses for my lame eye artwork and practiced for about a week straight.

This is one of Christopher Lyle's contributions to the Matt Falloon Flower Buds project, and it is typical of his work.  Big and delicious.
