I think building a pooping balloon dog was more of an inevitability. The groan? That was just the sound of me trying to push the urge down.
The original design I believe is by Jason Freeny, who has made numerous sculptures, including some now-iconic balloon dog poses - but I've seen this recreated by a few people. I thought it might be fun to add another dog to the mix, doing what my dog does when another is trying to poop: inspect the process way too closely.
It sort of feels weird to talk about posing a pooping dog - but here we are. I wanted to try and get the awkward sheepish look that they give you when they catch you staring. I think I captured both looks better before I changed to brown poo to be honest, the head down really gives a hard stare-back, and the head tilt on the yellow dog adds a lot of the taking-a-whiff look..
