July 4 - Rocket

Happy 4th of July!

Pieter van Engen, master of inorganic balloon designs, gives us this design in Balloon Magic Magazine Issue #75.  This is signature Pieter with enough marriage twists that you deserve a honeymoon.

I did struggle a bit making a mini topiary ball for the sparking fuse.  I like the look, but that was a lot of knots to tie in small segments of 160s.  Next time I am going to leave the ends purposefully longer to dangle and mix up the colors of the balls to give it a better sparky look.
