June 10 - Rumble Taxi


They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique

The next Rumble Truck/David Brenion inspired design is this taxi.

This was one of the first things I thought to do actually, it's very similar to the standard "rumbler", and really much more of a color change than anything else.  So I decided to try a different approach and build the eyes as headlights instead of on the windshield.  Once I added the bumper it seemed to form a nice mouth as well.

The eyes didn't look so much like headlights the way I was able to position them.

One big learning experience for this one is it's a lot quicker, looks better and is easier to draw a small checkerboard pattern with a fat sharpie than a big checkerboard pattern that you need to then shade in.
